Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has been appointed as a member of the National Steering Committee of the Renewed Hope Ward Development Programme — a Federal Government initiative aimed at deepening grassroots development across Nigeria.
Governor Radda attended the committee’s inaugural meeting held on Wednesday at the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) Secretariat in Abuja. The meeting was chaired by the Kwara State Governor and NGF Chairman, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu approved the constitution of the committee following recommendations by the National Economic Council.
The committee comprises eight governors, including AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq (Kwara) as Chairman, former Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, as Vice Chairman, and Governors Mai Mala Buni (Yobe), Douye Diri (Bayelsa), Dapo Abiodun (Ogun), Peter Mbah (Enugu), Dikko Umaru Radda (Katsina), and Hyacinth Alia (Benue).
Mr Damilotun Aderemi will serve as the National Programme Coordinator.
Governor Radda commended President Tinubu for what he described as a “visionary step towards promoting inclusive and community-based development” through the Renewed Hope initiative.
He said the recognition of Katsina’s Community Development Programme as a model worthy of national replication reflects the state’s commitment to participatory governance and community-driven transformation.
“Katsina State will continue to align its local initiatives with the national framework to promote inclusive growth and sustainable rural development,” he assured.
The Renewed Hope Ward Development Programme seeks to bring Federal Government interventions closer to citizens through ward-level projects focused on infrastructure, healthcare, education, and economic empowerment.
Governor Radda reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and pledged Katsina State’s active contribution towards achieving the programme’s objectives.
